Galleria With the launch of the combined show Decorate Life there will be a new, trend-setting thematic group in Frankfurt for home living: Young Living Trends is a special area dedicated to youthful, mobile living. The trend exhibition showcases modern concepts for fixtures and furnishings and unconventional “living styles” for big-city nomads, singles, trend-setters and people who like to stay on the move. Halls 6.0 C40 and 6.1 E70 Young design, undiluted innovation – within the framework of the Talents sponsorship programme, international students, college graduates and design agencies will be presenting themselves, their designs, prototypes and first limited series on 39 fair stands, with the aim being to establish initial contacts with trade and industry. In Carat Hall (6.0), the spotlight will be on jewellery design and, in the Loft Hall (6.1), product and furniture design will be the primary focus. - Next
Hall 6.1 Ex-Talents and new discoveries – fresh, young minds and products in any event. The new area, Next, provides space for around fifteen creative, design-orientated companies, currently in the process of gaining a foothold in the market. The integral stand concept is the work of celebrity designer Clemens Weisshaar. Next offers visitors new suppliers with that extra special something in an avant-garde atmosphere.
- Magazine Boulevard
Hall 6.1 Lean back, read and discover: Magazine Boulevard offers selected international high-end magazines for design, interior design, architecture and lifestyle and is a treasure trove for everyone looking for new publications and inspiration through first-class media. Designer Veit Streitenberger has created the avant-garde ambience of the reading lounge.

- Nordic Design
Hall 4.0 The no-frills, contemporary form of expression associated with Scandinavian design is now more popular with design aficionados and quality-conscious consumers than ever before and so the international consumer-goods fair Tendence is devoting a specific area to the theme of Nordic design. In Hall 4.0, in the tabletop and kitchen products area, high-profile brand-name suppliers like Iittala, Menu, Normann Copenhagen, Rosendahl and Stelton will be putting the international charisma of the North to the test. - Taste it! for professionals
Hall 4.0 G81 Taste it! is synonymous with trendy ideas and exciting themes for the tabletop and kitchen sector. Messe Frankfurt and the German Association for Tableware, Housewares and Home Culture (Bundesverband für den gedeckten Tisch, Hausrat und Wohnkultur e.V. – GPK) will be offering a varied, specialist programme every day throughout the fair. An interesting series of lectures given by experienced expert speakers, plus top-quality cookery shows and a host of practical sales and display tips, round off the Tendence Table & Decoration product portfolio.

Hall 4.0 B61 Impressive and easy to reproduce. Trend expert Oliver Schmid brings the colours, forms and materials of the season ahead to the table, providing the trade with valuable ideas on how to show off the new themes effectively in shops and window displays.
- Kitchen innovation for 2008
Foyer Hall 4.0 This year, for the second time, Taste it! will be playing host to the “Kitchen Innovation of the Year” awards ceremony. The FoodVision Deutschland GmbH and their “Besser Leben” (Better Living) initiative extend the invitation to enter the award, which honours innovation and outstanding quality in the kitchen and tabletop products segments. An exhibition featuring the winning entries will be on show in the foyer of Hall 4.0.
- Outdoor Trends
Hall 9.0 D41 Balcony, terrace, garden or holiday home – in the summer months, more and more people opt for an outdoor lifestyle but without sacrificing comfort or personal style. On the contrary, more and more manufacturers are extending their product ranges for trend-conscious fresh air enthusiasts. - Form
Galleria Craftsmanship and more. The adjudicated exhibition FORM 2008 features innovative products spanning the entire Tendence product range. The invitation to take part in the competition is extended by the German Crafts Association (Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk e.V.), who stage the exhibition in collaboration with Messe Frankfurt. The exhibition, which features craftsmanship, craft products, industry and design, affords fair visitors a comprehensive view of major developments and innovations, ranging from high-quality industrial and manufactured products to unusual originals.

- Special Kids World Show
Foyer Hall 4.1 Kids rule the world. The Kids World product area in Hall 3.0 provides a dedicated platform for kids accessories, gifts, toys and furniture. In a special show in the foyer of Hall 4.1, German designer Martin Metz shows how imaginative and beautiful retailer-designed kids’ product worlds can be.

- Carat! on Stage - Jewellery Lecture Area
Hall 6.0 D70 These days jewellery is an essential component of the fashion and lifestyle segment. Jewellers and goldsmiths have long since ceased to be the exclusive suppliers of jewellery. In fashion boutiques, design and museum shops, galleries and gift shops, jewellery forms an integral part of the collection. What is generally true: it is essential to display watches and jewellery correctly to do them justice. In the lecture area in Hall 6.0, top-class speakers offer professional, store and product display expertise. Hall 5.0 C49 Like fashion, jewellery lives from trends. The trend and innovation area in Hall 5.0 features the ‘in’ colours and designs for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season. On several trend tables, Carat exhibitors will be showing their new products from the fashion, luxury and costume jewellery segments.

- Rattan Lounge
Hall 8.0 C61 Small, light and handy to use but above all unconventional and versatile. In their lounge, the students of the Academy of Design in Karlsruhe (HfG) and the Central Academy of Fine Art in Peking invite you to re-experience traditional materials, with flexible bamboo and rattan chairs in contemporary, amorphous shapes. www.hfg-karlsruhe.de
- Frozen
Hall 6.1 D90 Refreshing coolness in summer – the Sounds of Silence studio in the “frozen” lounge lets visitors become part of an experimental installation. Sound, colour and forms stimulate the senses and perception as such is made visible. - Typefighter
Hall 8.0 Confidential mail is a thing of the past! Anyone sending a love letter in Hall 8.0 can be sure it will be read by others. With the aid of an oversized keyboard and monitor, fair visitors can write and send e-mails, accompanied by sound and lighting effects. The multimedia installation is the work of Rutan GmbH, who have been attracting attention with their new Typefighter for the past 12 months. www.rutan.de
